In a group project, we decided to collaborate with a company called SNRGY Studios AB. Our task was to help them create marketing content for their website and promotional videos. The goal was to provide them with a faster, more affordable, and flexible way to produce marketing material.

We animated the lamp - Noora Design to demonstrate some of its different features. One of the features we created was a shader that makes two colors rotate around the lamp, giving it a dynamic look. We started by UV mapping a black-and-white gradient onto the lamp, then used Texture Coordinates and a Vector Rotate node in the shader to spin the gradient. The gradient feeds into an Emission shader, which makes the lamp glow when rendered in Cycles. To enhance realism and make the lighting stronger, we also added an invisible torus around the lamp that doesn’t render but casts light onto the scene.

A big part of the project involved optimizing rendering times. For example, a 5-second clip could take over 9 hours to render, so we worked a lot on finding ways to reduce render times while still keeping the quality high.

My main focus in this project was creating realistic rooms and animating the lamp to bring it to life. However, I also took the opportunity to explore and experiment with different aspects of the project, trying a little bit of everything to broaden my skills and gain a deeper understanding of the entire process.

Some improvements I would aim for in the future include creating even more realistic environments and adding more detailed animations to showcase NOORA’s full range of features.
